K-SONS
The Kentuckian Society of N Scalers (KSONS) are dedicated to the advancement and enjoyment of N scale model railroading in Louisville, Southern Indiana, and the surrounding area. We are loosely organized with all our decisions made by consensus. We have no officers, dues, or bylaws. There are several home layouts and we often meet to run trains. There are also several N Scalers building new Free-moN modules, and of course there are still some standard NTRAK modules in our area.

We welcome anyone interested in N scale model railroading to join with us, even if you do not have a layout or modules. For more information contact Paul Downs at 502-649-1703 or visit their Facebook page.

The Salem Depot Museum
Salem, Indiana, is the birthplace of the Monon Railroad which was organized in 1847 as the New Albany & Salem Rail Road. Its purpose was to provide Salem businesses a method of shipping goods between Salem and the Ohio River, but by the time the line reached Salem in 1851, the decision had already been made to build all the way to Lake Michigan. The Depot is a museum that commemorates the role Salem had in the founding of the railroad. It also features a large model railroad (HO) that depicts Washington County in the period 1957-1964.
