Hotel Layouts

Check out the modular/portable switching lay-
outs in the Cochran Room of the Rivue Tower
in the Galt House. They’re open for you to view,
visit, and operate for most of the convention.
They’re first-come, first-served and require noth-
ing but a bit of your time and interest. Stop by
for a few minutes between clinics or over lunch
or dinner for a bit of hands-on model railroading
at absolutely no cost.

Layout Tours

We have two sets of layout tours/open houses
available at no charge to you. They’re both self-
guided. The first set is in Southern Indiana on
Saturday morning. The second set is designed to
give you a few stops on the way home Sunday.
Descriptions and directions for both sets of lay-
out tours were included in the bag you received
at registration. Stop by the Registration Desk
and ask for the self-guided layout tour/open
house packets if you can’t find them in your bag.

Please remember that you are a guest in each of
the layouts. Keep the aisles clear, never lean on a
layout, don’t pick up anything, and don’t touch,
scratch, feel, or move anything unless specifically
invited to do so by the host.

Be tolerant of scale, era, level of completeness,
and skills. If you can’t say something nice. . . si-
lence is always an option. Be sure to sign the
guest book and thank the host/hostess/owners/
crews.

Give everyone some time to speak with the host.
No smoking is the absolute rule in the house and
on the property. Ask if it’s OK to take photos; it
usually is. Ask if it’s OK to post your photos
online; sometimes it’s not.

If you see someone violating any of the above, a
gentle reminder would be appropriate.
